Description
12 and 14 High Street is a house that has been converted into two separate homes. Originally built in the 17th century, it underwent alterations in the 19th century. The structure features a timber frame covered in roughcast and has a steep slate roof. It is designed with a three-unit central chimney plan and faces east. There is a rear wing on the southwest side, which has a low-pitched slate roof (No 14) and a stair turret at the angle. The building is two storeys high and has three windows. The upper floor of No 14 has square flush box sliding sash windows with 8/8 panes, while No 12 has been updated with 2/2 sash windows. In the centre and to the left, there are recessed canted bow windows. To the right, there is a 19th-century divided former shop window with trusses and a fascia. Between the windows, there are two doors in moulded doorcases: a four-panel half-door for No 14 and a boarded door for No 12 on the right.
