Description
No. 6 High Street is a house dating from the early 18th century. It has a timber frame that is plastered and lined to resemble ashlar, with the front faced in red brick and a gambrel roof covered in old red tiles. There is a low brick and tile lean-to extension on the south side, which is not of special interest. The house is small, with two storeys and an attic, featuring a large internal gable chimney on the north side and facing east. It has a flat-topped dormer in the roof slope that contains a two-light casement window. Each floor has one window, with triple flush casement windows set beneath deep segmental arches. The entrance door is located to the left and is accessed by one step. The door has four flush panels within a moulded doorcase, topped with a moulded flat hood supported by shaped brackets. At the rear, there is a single-storey tiled outshut that is likely original.
