Description
Alpha House is a house dating from the 18th century, which has been cased in yellow stock brick and extended to the rear in the early 19th century. It is likely timber framed beneath the extensive brick cladding. The house features a steep red tiled roof that is concealed by a parapet, along with a low pitched slate roof on the rear wing. The building stands two storeys high with a cellar and has three windows across its front. Red brick gable chimneys are present, with the south chimney projecting.
The symmetrical front has three recessed rectangular panels, with the central panel being narrower. The recessed sash windows have painted reveals, flat yellow gauged brick arches, stone sills, and small panes arranged in patterns of 4/4:3/3:4/4 on the upper floor and 8/8 on the lower floor. A recessed six-panel door, accessed by two steps, features panelled reveals, fluted pilasters, and a moulded cornice on frieze blocks below a painted tympanum that displays the name of the house.
