Description
No 4 Green Lane is a house located in Braughing village, dating from the early 18th century or earlier. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded on a stucco plinth, with the rear and ends plastered. The roof is now covered with slate. This long, narrow building has two storeys and faces north, with lean-to extensions at the rear and external gable chimneys at both the east and west ends, serving only the ground floor. The upper floor has four front windows, which are two-light flush casement windows. There were formerly two adjacent doors in the middle, with a similar window on each side; however, the right-hand door, which was formerly No 2, is now blocked by a window. This picturesque building is situated on a corner site.
