Description

The Pump House is a building located in Braughing village, dating from the mid-18th century. Originally a block of three houses, it has been reduced and is now one house. The structure features a timber frame that is plastered, with the ground floor replaced by plastered brickwork. It has a slate roof and was originally an L-shaped block of two-storey houses. The eastern range remains, along with the stump of the northern range. Each former house has two 2-light small paned casement windows, which have been renewed. The building has shared central chimneys made of stock brick and is an important element that encloses the Square on the west side. It is included for its group value.
