Description

No. 16 is a house located in Braughing village, dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber frame with roughcast finish on a flint sill and has an old red tile roof. This small, two-unit house has an end chimney and faces west. It is one and a half storeys tall, with a gabled dormer above the door and a window in the south gable. The entrance is on the north side, leading into the part of the house with the gable chimney. There is a later or rebuilt rear lateral chimney that serves the south part of the house. The front of the building has two flush two-light casement windows with small panes and a plank door set in a broad moulded frame with a hood. This house contributes to the picturesque character of the street scene.
