House, now 2 houses. C16, W part altered in late C17, E part largely rebuilt in C18. Timber frame roughcast. One and a half storeys W part thatched above an old red tile slope with 2 gabled tiled dormers. Higher 2 storeys E part (No 5) thatched with half-hip to E end and lower rear wing to NE. Fragmentary remains of a small open-hall house with 2 pairs of posts in No 4 formerly supporting tie-beams which were removed in late C17 when floor and chimney were inserted. They mark either a cross-passage, or a hearth bay. Framing in E wall has heavy curved tension braces with door position at S end, leading into No 5.
