Description

No 28 is a house located in Shalbourne Village, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a thatched roof. The building is two stories tall with an attic and has five window bays. The entrance is located in a 19th-century lean-to porch in the third bay, which includes a glazed timber door. A plat band runs along the building. The windows are small, two-light timber casements with gauged brick lintels, although the ground floor windows have been altered to three-light with segmental heads. There are large external gable stacks, one of which has laced tumbled brick at an offset level. At the rear, the pitch of the roof is tiled and has been extended over a single-storey rear service room.
