Description

No. 24 is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of diaper brick, with a thatched roof. Some timber framing is also visible. The house is two bays wide, one bay of two storeys, and bays two and three single-storey. A timber door is located in the first bay. Two-light and three-light timber casement windows are present throughout. A plat band runs across the first bay. The thatch is half-hipped to the left and sweeps over a dormer window in the first bay. There are stacks located to the left gable and between bays two and three. Local information and external evidence suggest the presence of cruck frames in bays two and three. The interior has not been inspected.
