Description

The Steppes is a house dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, situated in Shalbourne village. It is constructed of brick, flint, and whitewashed brick to the front, with a thatched roof. Originally a two-bay, single-storey and attic structure, it has been extended to the left by one bay and to the right by two bays. A four-panelled door, complete with a bracketed canopy, is located in the right bay of the original part of the house. The windows are casements with two and three lights, and those on the upper floor feature leading. Gable stacks are present on the original section. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
