Description

The barn north of Shalbourne Manor Farm is a Grade II listed building dating from the 18th century. It has been converted for use as stables and a store. The structure is timber framed, resting on brick sills, and features weatherboarding with a thatched roof. The barn consists of six bays with aisles, and the three bays on the left are at a lower level. The threshing floor is boarded at the front and made of brick at the rear. It includes jowled posts with straight braces connecting to the plates and ties, queen struts supporting a single purlin roof, and straight windbraces. Some of the trusses have collars.
