Description
Crooked Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on the north side of Burr Lane in Shalbourne. It features a timber frame with brick infill, a brick gable facing the road, and a south front that has been refaced in brick. The cottage has a tiled roof and consists of a single storey with an attic, arranged in two bays. There is a large 20th-century wing that includes the entrance on the right side. The timber frame is three panels high on a brick sill. An external stack on the road side has two diagonal shafts and a datestone marked 1665 F.S. The cottage has timber casement windows and a 20th-century square bay on the north-east face. The roof is half-hipped to the right and features two dormers at the rear.
