Description
Kingston Hall is a schoolroom, now serving as a village hall, built in 1843. It is constructed from limestone ashlar with a slate roof. The building has three bays and low cross porches at each end, with the main entrance located in the right porch. This porch features a Tudor arched doorway with a projecting label mould and a small gable bearing a ribbon inscription. A panelled timber door opens into the hall. The schoolroom has cross windows, also with labels, now fitted with 20th-century glazing. The left porch contains a two-light window above a raised letter inscription stating "THIS SCHOOL/(was built for T(h)E PURPOSE / OF G(iv)NG / A BIBLE EDUCATION / TO THE / CHILDREN OF THE POOR." This inscription is replicated on a stone panel below the central window. The gables of the schoolroom are raised; the left gable has double flues, and the right gable features a bellcote.
