Description

The barn, now a barn and stable, was built in the late 17th century. A western bay was separated as a stable in the 18th or 19th century. The barn is timber-framed and clad with dark weatherboarding, featuring a steep roof covered with old red tiles. It is a four-bay barn facing north towards the yard, with a gabled south projection located in the second bay from the east. A small door is present in the projection, and double doors are located in the north side of the same bay. The barn has unjowled posts with straight braces to the tie-beams and walls. A mid-height rail within the walls is slightly staggered. The roof has angled queen-post trusses, each with one clasped purlin and curved wind braces. The south projection has a similar roof. The wallplate is butt-scarfed. The west bay serves as a stable, with a door facing north and a hay-door to the loft.
