Description

The stable at Frenches Farm, dating from the 17th century, features a timber frame construction with alterations made to the west wall in the 19th century. The northern end is infilled with brick, while the eastern and southern sides are covered in dark weatherboarding. The western wall, facing the road, has been replaced with a combination of flint and brick. The building has a steep roof made of old red tiles. Inside, there are three stables arranged in a line that are still in use. The roof structure includes clasped-purlin design with queen-strut and collar trusses, and there are slots for braces to the tie-beams. This stable is included for its group value.
