Description
Tenements Farm is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private house. It dates from the late 17th century and was later cased in brick in the early 19th century. The building was extended to the rear and renovated around 1930. It features a timber frame that is now covered in red brick, topped with a steep old red tile half-hipped roof. The house is two storeys tall, with a cellar and attics, and has a T-plan layout facing west. There are three windows on each floor and two hipped dormer windows on the roof slope. A gable chimney is located at the north end, while a 20th-century gable chimney is at the south end. The windows are flush casement types with 2, 3, and 4 lights, featuring lattice leaded glazing and timber lintels. The entrance is through a 20th-century half-timbered hipped porch on the east side, which is two storeys high. Inside, the building retains its exposed timber frame with jowled posts and wide framing, a side-purlin roof, axial chamfered beams, and squared joists.
