House. Late C16 or early C17, altered in early C18, subsequently extended at both ends. Timber frame, red brick infill to ground floor and red tilehanging to 1st floor. End parts roughcast. Steep old red tile roof. A long 2-storeys house facing S with 4 windows on 1st floor and 6 on ground floor with gable entrances now. Flush casement windows renewed with lattice leaded glazing. Old middle part comprises a hall and subdivided inner room to W. Large internal chimney built in narrow E bay with former cross-passage behind it on E. Cross-beam dividing ground floor has mortice and wattle holes for original partition. C18 staircase at rear of E room with turned balusters and moulded handrail of good quality in short balustrade. Early C19 formerly projecting chimney at W end of middle part. E gable internal chimney to E extension. (RCHM Typescript).
