Description

This is a block of two estate houses built around the 1880s for the Rothschild Estate, likely designed by William Huckvale. The construction is primarily plum brick, with the first floor featuring decorative tile-hanging and half-timbered gable tops. The roof is steeply pitched, covered in machine-made red tiles, and punctuated by tall brick circular chimneys with spurred caps and moulded bases, featuring raised patterns on the shafts. The building presents a picturesque, irregular facade to the west and features an armorial plaque above a ground-floor window. The ground floor windows are flush casements with small panes and segmental arches. The north front includes a gabled jetty to the left of a gabled open timber porch, which has seats against low brick side walls.
