Description
Nos. 23 and 24 Park Street are a pair of estate houses built in the 1880s for the Rothschild Estate, likely designed by William Huckvale. The houses feature plum brick construction with the first floor plastered to mimic half-timbering, and they have steep roofs made of machine-made red tiles. This picturesque block is 1½ storeys tall and faces north, with a central lean-to open timber porch that has two doors and a gabled window above. There is a plinth and a moulded band below the plastered first floor. The ground floor includes 3-light and 2-light casement windows with segmental arches. Inside, there are tall internal chimneys. A matching brick and tile extension was added to the west in the later 20th century.
