Description
No. 4 Park Street is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of plum brick with red brick dressings, featuring a vertical band of vitrified headers at the corners, a rubbed red brick floor band, and arches. The house has a wooden eaves cornice and a steep old red tile roof. It is a formal two-storey structure with an attic, facing south, and has a symmetrical front that is five windows long, with slightly recessed sash windows featuring six-over-six panes and flat gauged arches.
The central doorway is a round arch with impost blocks, accessed by three moulded stone steps. It has a six-panel early 19th-century flush beaded door set in flush panelled reveals, with reeded pilasters on either side and a delicate lobed fanlight with a central roundel above. The eaves cornice is both moulded and dentilled. There is a small window next to the chimney on the west gable, and a lean-to rear extension is present on the eastern part of the house.
