Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on Akeman Street, Tring. It is constructed of yellow brick with tuck pointing, a painted stucco plinth, and a steep slate roof. The house is two storeys and has attics, arranged with a symmetrical three-window facade facing east. It follows a double-pile plan with end chimneys.

The south front features end pilasters and three recessed sash windows with 8/8 panes on the first floor, featuring painted reveals and flat, buff-coloured, gauged arches. The ground floor windows are deeper and now have 2/2 sashes with horns. A round-headed arched central entrance, approached by two stone steps, has a six-panel moulded door recessed between wide side panels with a reeded transom and a delicate lobed fanlight with a central roundel. Projecting front eaves have a plastered soffit. The north gable is of red brick, with a timber frame partly exposed.
