Description
Nos. 21 and 22 Park Street are a pair of estate houses built in the 1880s for the Rothschild Estate, likely designed by William Huckvale. They are similar in style to Nos. 25 and 26. The houses are constructed of plum brick, with the first floor plastered to mimic half-timbering and scalloped red tile hanging on the jettied first floor above the porch. The steep roof is covered in red machine-made tiles. This picturesque block has one and a half storeys and faces north, featuring a central projecting two-storey porch that is open below, along with a second entrance at the west end under a gabled timber porch. The attic space in the upper part of the roof includes a gable window. There is an armorial plaque on the porch, and the windows are divided into three-light and two-light casements with segmental arches on the ground floor. The building has a plinth and a moulded projecting band below the plastered upper section, as well as two tall internal chimneys.
