Description

Nos. 5, 6, and 7 Park Street are three houses built in 1887, likely designed by William Huckvale for workers of the Rothschild family, as indicated by the armorial plaque on the right-hand gable. The ground floor is constructed of plum brick, while the upper floor is plastered and painted to resemble half-timbering, featuring roughcast geometric panels. The jettied first floor of the gables at each end is adorned with scalloped tile hanging. The houses have a steep hipped red tile roof and tall red brick chimneys with pilasters.

At the rear, there is a symmetrical two-storey block with four windows, a central gabled open timber porch, and lean-to porches on each end wall. The windows are three-light flush casements with divided panes, and the ground floor features segmental arches. Small gables are positioned over the middle two first-floor windows, along with small plastered gables set with gabled wings that display the date and plaque. The jetties are supported by moulded stone corbels and bull-nosed joists, with a moulded brick band below the plastered first floor. These three estate houses are designed as a single building and are included for their group value.
