Description
No. 143 on High Street is a house built around 1906. It has a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a grey slate roof that features red ridge tiles, a terracotta finial, and a timber pendant at the apex of the gable facing the road. The gable has scalloped barge boards and batten decoration. There is an external brick chimney stack on the side. The house is two storeys tall, with a central pair of vertically sliding sash windows on the first floor, flanked by fluted pilasters with capitals and bases, and a moulded cornice above. The full-width porch has a red plain tiled roof and a scalloped cornice, with a similar bay window below. The porch features a panelled door on the right, fluted pilasters with capitals and bases, and a cornice above. A stop-chamfered support column with a capital and base is present in the porch.
