Description

This is a row of cottages dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, located on the south side of High Street, Great Wakering. The cottages are timber-framed with weatherboard cladding, with the exception of the ground floor of number 67, which is now part of The Red Lion Public House (and is not listed) and is faced with red brick. The roof is a red plain tiled gambrel, with a central brick chimney stack and a further stack to the right of a single-storey extension on the left.

The cottages are one storey high with attics; they have three segmental dormers, each containing small-paned vertically sliding sash windows. The front has a 1:3 window range. The window to the left is a shop bay, while the central windows are small-paned vertically sliding sashes with moulded surrounds. A more modern fixed window with leaded glass is on the right. There are two vertically boarded doors; the one on the right has a moulded canopy, and the left extension has a glazed door.
