Description

Nos. 79 and 81 High Street are a pair of cottages dating from around 1700, with a 19th-century addition at the rear. They are constructed with a timber frame and have a pebble dash plaster finish, featuring rusticated quoins above weatherboarding. The cottages have a red plain tiled roof and a large central red brick chimney stack. They are two storeys high and have a two-window range consisting of small paned casements and vertically sliding sashes. The doorways on the right and left have simple surrounds with flat canopies supported by brackets. The left door is a 20th-century design, while the right door is vertically boarded.
