Description

No. 71 on Newmarket Road is a house built in the mid-19th century. It features painted brick with a rendered plinth and a hipped slate roof, along with two side brick chimneys. The building has two storeys and a basement, with three symmetrical first-floor windows. There are end pilasters, and the entrance consists of two steps leading up to a half-glazed door that has leaded glass in the overlight. The porch is supported by two pilasters and two Ionic columns. The ground floor windows are adorned with rendered lugged architraves and pediments, while the windows have been replaced with 20th-century casements. A plain frieze with laurel wreaths is located above each end pilaster.
