Description

BARLING MAGNA LITTLE WAKERING TQ 98 NW LITTLE WAKERING HALL ROAD 12/36 Outbuilding adjacent to south-west of Little 27.7.59 Wakering Hall and attached wall to south east GV II Outbuilding. C16. Red brick. Red plain tiled roof hipped to north and south, with gablet to north. 2 storeys. Rectangular plan. The east wall has a small rectangular plan extension to the north, possibly a former porch or stair turret, either side of this feature are 2 original brick windows one of 2 the other of 3 lights with moulded surrounds, mullions and square heads. There is a vertically boarded door to south of these windows. The south wall has a loft door and window with segmental head. West wall 2 vertically boarded doors and 2 windows. The building has been altered C19/C20 into stables and has a brick floor and several stalls. Stop chamfered bridging joists to ceiling. Attached to south west is a later single storey range now living accommodation. South east is an attached wall, matching that extending from the walled garden, the end pier surmounted by a stone ball finial on a square base. RCHM 4 (Little Wakering).
