Description

This is an outbuilding dating from the 16th century, located adjacent to the south-west of Little Wakering Hall. It is constructed of red brick and features a red plain tiled roof that is hipped to the north and south, with a gablet at the north end. The building is two storeys high and has a rectangular plan.

The east wall includes a small rectangular extension to the north, which may have been a former porch or stair turret. On either side of this extension are two original brick windows, one with two lights and the other with three lights, both having moulded surrounds, mullions, and square heads. There is a vertically boarded door located to the south of these windows.

The south wall features a loft door and a window with a segmental head. The west wall has two vertically boarded doors and two windows. The building has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries to serve as stables, which includes a brick floor and several stalls. The ceiling has stop-chamfered bridging joists.

Attached to the south-west is a later single-storey range that has been converted into living accommodation. To the south-east, there is an attached wall that matches the one extending from the walled garden, with the end pier topped by a stone ball finial on a square base.
