Description
The outbuilding at Little Moreton Hall Farmhouse is a farm building dating from the 16th or 17th century, with a refacing from the 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick and wattle-and-daub infill, constructed with English garden wall bond brick, and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high.
On the farmyard front, the 19th-century brickwork includes two stable doors with cambered heads, five camber-headed window openings with ashlar sills, and four rectangular window openings dating from the 20th century. Above these, there are two loft doorways, with the one on the right featuring ashlar hinge dressings. A gabled dormer containing a loft door is located to the right of centre. The top of the walling has a wall-plate with peg-holes.
The rear wall, which is only visible from the interior, has 13 by 3 cells of small framing with tension braces at either end and two plank doorways. Inside, there are two purlins and a ridge with wattle-and-daub infill in the dividing wall, which includes a queen-post truss.
