Description
This is an outbuilding located about 5 yards north-west of Mill Hall, dating from the mid to late 16th century, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, painted brick infill, and features brick replacement walling topped with a plain tiled roof. The building consists of three framed bays and is a single storey with an attic. The framing includes four square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with long straight braces in the lower corners, and collar and tie-beam trusses in the gable ends that have double collars, queen struts, and V-struts at the apex.
On the main south elevation, there is a three-light casement window, a rectangular light, a square light, and a stable door. The gable ends have attic lights, and the west gable end displays the date "1503" at the apex. Inside, the roof features double rows of trenched purlins and two intermediate collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts.
