Description
This is an outbuilding, possibly once a dwelling, located about 30 yards east of Upper Limebrook Farmhouse. It likely dates from the 17th century and is constructed with a timber frame, featuring rendered infill on a rubble base, some weatherboarding, and a corrugated iron roof. The building consists of three framed bays aligned east to west and is partly two levels high. The framing includes sections with three panels and sections with four panels from the sill to the wall-plate to accommodate changes in ground levels. At the west end, there is a tie-beam truss with decorative lattice struts, while the east gable is weatherboarded.
The south elevation has two square openings and two loft openings, while the north elevation features two stable doors and a loft opening. The west end includes two square windows and a lozenge-shaped loft light, and there is a doorway at the east end. Inside, the roof has a collar and tie-beam truss with three struts to the collar, and a V-strut above the collar at the east end. There are also two intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts, one of which is arch-braced, and two tiers of trenched purlins. The internal panels are rendered.
