Farmhouse. C17 or earlier with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Part timber-framed with painted brick infill, brick replacement walling and refacing and brick additions on sandstone rubble plinth, plain tiled roof and large, external brick stack to rear and small brick stack at north gable end. Three framed bays with probable through-passage above north end bay. Single storey, attic with dormers and large cellar at south end accommodated by steeply sloping ground level.
Framing: mainly three panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in lower corners and tie-beam and collar of north gable end truss partly visible.
Front elevation: scattered fenestration; ground floor has two three-light casements with cambered heads, two rectangular lights; a gabled dormer with two-light casement; doorway, in former through-passage position, has pilaster and entablature surround and flat, moulded canopy; ledged and battened door.
Interior: roof not inspected; main beams chamfered with ogee-stops.
At rear south bay is a mid-C19 single storey kitchen wing with boiler and former large bread oven, now removed; outshut and mid-C20 extension to rear centre and north bay.
