Description
Hunt Green Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill set on a sandstone rubble plinth, along with brick replacement walling and refacing. The roof is plain tiled, and there is a sandstone rubble chimney at the left gable end with a rebuilt brick stack. The cottage consists of two framed bays and is a single storey with an attic that includes a rear gabled dormer. The framing includes three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, a short straight brace to the upper central panel of the front elevation, and a long straight brace in the lower corner of the right gable end. A tie-beam truss with queen struts is visible in the right gable end. On the front elevation, there is a single light casement in the left bay and a two-light casement in the right bay. To the left of the centre, there is a mid-20th century lean-to porch that is part-glazed, featuring a ledged and battened door and multi-paned windows. The gable end has attic lights. The interior has not been inspected, and there are 20th-century extensions to the rear.
