Cottage. Early C17, altered and extended mid-C20. Timber-framed, rendered infill on sandstone rubble base, plain tiled roof and large external sand- stone chimney at rear with brick stack having a cogged course at its base. Three framed bays; single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: three square panels from sill to wall-plate, short straight braces in upper corners, collar-and-tie-beam truss with queen struts and V-strut in apex at left gable end. Front elevation: ground floor has a 2-light casement with plank weathering, a rectangular stair light and a row of five 2-light case- ments with a continuous planked weathering; three gabled dormers with 2-light casements; attic lights in left gabel end. Main entrance now in single-bay extension at right gable end which continues the main roof line and is completely glazed to the front elevation; this links the old structure with a C20 cross-wing in matching style.
