Description
Greenlands is a cottage that dates from the 17th century or earlier and was restored in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill, brick refacing, and replacement walling, as well as a sandstone rubble base. The roof is plain tiled and has an external brick stack at the right gable end. The building has two storeys and retains a single framed bay from the earlier house. The framing includes irregular panels from the sill to the wall-plate, long straight braces in the lower corners, and a collar-and-tie-beam truss at the right gable end with queen struts.
On the front elevation, all the windows are from the 20th century, including two round windows and one casement on the first floor. The main entrance features a single-storey and attic hipped roof extension that adjoins the left gable end. This extension has a three-light casement with a cambered head, and there is a lean-to porch supported by timber uprights next to the older part of the building. At the left end, there is a projecting wing with paired double garage doors and a loft door.
