Description
Patrick's is a cottage that dates from the late 16th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building is timber-framed with rendered and painted brick infill and features a slate roof, along with a large external brick stack at the north gable end. It consists of two framed bays and has a timber-framed rear catslide outshut. The cottage is two storeys high, with framing that includes three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, swept braces in the lower corners, and collar-and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts and V-struts in the apex at the gable ends.
On the main garden elevation, there is scattered fenestration, including two 2-light casements on both the ground and first floors. A central timber-framed, gabled porch with a moulded finial and a ledged and battened door adds to the character of the cottage. To the right side of the main elevation, there is a mid-19th century single-storey former dairy wing, and a 20th-century flat-roofed rear extension. The interior has not been inspected.
