Description
Tapenhill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick, some of which is hand-made, and features a hipped, plain tiled roof with large brick stacks at the rear of the main range. The building has two storeys, an attic with dormers, and a cellar. There is a three-course band above both main storeys and a dentilled eaves cornice. The farmhouse is three bays wide, with all windows featuring moulded architraves and cambered heads; the windows are 16-pane sashes, except for the large three-light casement window on the left side of the ground floor. The central entrance has a door with six raised and fielded panels, topped by a barred segmental fanlight. A gabled dormer with a casement window is located in the south side elevation. The interior has not been inspected. A mid-19th century, three-storey addition extends along the full length of the rear elevation.
