Description

Canal Bridge No. 86 is a farm bridge over the Macclesfield Canal, built around 1827 by William Crosley. It is constructed of yellow sandstone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features a single-span horseshoe arch made of voussoirs, with a projecting keystone that connects to a band below the parapet. The walls on either side are battered, and there are curved retaining walls that end in square piers. The top of the parapet has chamfered coping.
