Description
This is an outbuilding located about 30 meters northeast of The Old Rectory, dating from the 17th century and extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber framed with red brick infill panels and features a thatched roof with half-hipped ends. The building has a long rectangular plan, with the original structure at the south end, which has been used as a stable.
The exterior is one storey with a loft. The original range on the right displays large exposed framing with tension braces at the corners. There is a later plank door to the stables positioned to the right of the center, and plank double doors to the left of the center, with a loft door above that breaks the eaves, featuring an eyebrow in the thatch and a small hatch to the left. To the left, there is a large double cart entry with 20th-century plank doors, as well as additional plank double doors.
Inside, at the south end, there is a chamfered axial floor beam and remnants of stable stores. The roof consists of large side purlins and common rafters.
