Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres west of Glovers Farmhouse, dates from around 1600. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of corrugated iron. The structure has four bays that are aligned approximately northwest to southeast, with an entrance in the northeast, located in the second bay from the northwest end. At the southeast end, there is a lean-to extension that is partly brick and partly weatherboarded, also featuring a corrugated iron roof. The barn's roof is hipped at both ends. Inside, it has jowled posts, heavy studding, and arched braces that rise from the corner posts to the tiebeams and wallplates, which are not trenched. There are also arched braces to the intermediate tiebeams, inclined queen posts that support the side purlins, which are trenched into the principal rafters, and curved wind bracing. Notably, some original wattle and daub infill remains in the northeast wall only.
