Description

This barn, located north of Wood Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century. It is constructed from timber framing and is weatherboarded, topped with a half-hipped roof made of corrugated iron. The barn is five bays long and features arch-braced tiebeams and north arcade plates, with jowled posts. There are moulded brackets that once supported a large door opening, which is now blocked. The structure includes halved and bladed scarfs and a queen post roof with arch-braced side purlins. Notably, the barn is aisled only on the north side.
