Description

This barn, located southeast of Herons Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a half-hipped roof made of red plain tiles. The barn is eight bays long and features aisles only on the east side. It has two gabled midstreys and includes arch-braced tie beams and arcade plates on the east side. The structure also has through wall bracing and a roof supported by queen struts and framed side purlins, with halved and bladed top plate scarfs.
