Description
This large barn, dating from the 17th century, is located to the northwest of Blake Hall. It features a timber frame that is partially bricked-in and partially weatherboarded, with aisles and two half-hipped midstreys. The roof is half-hipped and covered with red pantiles. The barn consists of six bays and includes jowled storey posts and arched braces connecting to the plates and storey posts. The top plate has a halved and bridled scarf joint. Inside, there are three original boarded doors with iron hinges and wooden catches in the aisle. Notably, the storey posts are carved with the initials 'R.B. H.B. 1642'.
