Description

This large barn, dating from the 17th century, is located 100 yards to the west of Blake House and is currently used as a dairy. It features timber framing and is constructed from hammer-dressed stone, topped with a recent asbestos roof. Inside, the barn has a four-bay layout supported by three king-post trusses with struts that are braced to the ridge. The jowelled posts are braced to the arcade plates and tie-beam. There is an aisle on each side, but it does not have aisle ties or posts. A later addition has been made to the rear of the building.
