Description
Lumb House Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse that has undergone some alterations in the 19th century. It is built from deeply coursed millstone grit and features a stone slate roof with gable copings on cut kneelers. The building has one ashlar gable stack and one central stone stack. It stands two storeys tall.
On the front, there is a blocked doorway to the left with a moulded surround, which bears the initials I.M.L. and a date. To the right, there is one 4-light window, a 19th-century doorway, and one 2-light window, both of which are double chamfered. The first floor has three 2-light 19th-century windows, all of which have had their mullions removed. At the rear, there is a 19th-century two-storey addition with a pitched roof, which is not included in the listing.
