Description
Two cottages, originally a 17th century or earlier house, stand on Gainsthorpe Road. They are timber-framed with a weatherboarded ground floor and a plastered first floor. The roof is hipped and covered with red plain tiles. The cottages have two storeys and a four-window front, featuring 19th and 20th century casement windows. There are two 20th-century board doors, each with a square light. A red brick chimney stack is positioned off-centre. Internally, jowled storey posts are visible, along with heavy, stop-chamfered bridging joists and top plates of good quality. Some 18th and 19th century doors remain.
