Description
The Rainbow and Dove public house is a 17th-century building that has been extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with roughcast rendering and is topped with handmade red clay tiles. The structure consists of four bays oriented approximately northeast to southwest, with an axial chimney stack located in the second bay from the northeast and an external chimney stack at the southwest end.
There is a single-storey extension to the southeast, which dates from the 19th century and has an external chimney stack on the northeast side. A second single-storey extension to the northeast, built in the 20th century, is weatherboarded and has an asphalt-tiled roof. The building is primarily single-storey with attics.
The public house has two 20th-century doors and features two horizontally sliding sash windows with eight lights from the late 19th century, as well as one 20th-century casement window and one double-hung sash window with twelve lights from the late 19th century, located in the gable end of the southeast extension. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century casement windows. Inside, the southwest bay contains plain chamfered beams with lamb's tongue stops.
