Description

Black Buoy Cottage and Black Buoy Hill Cottage are two early 19th-century cottages, originally built as a single structure and later divided into separate dwellings. They are constructed of painted brick and plaster, with each unit being two storeys high. The western cottage has an unusual, elongated plan, featuring a curved (north) side creating a knife-edge return. The north-west unit has a brick dentilled eaves cornice and two pairs of hornless small-paned sash windows, with one pane per sash. The eastern range also features a matching eaves cornice, a slated roof, and a mix of sliding sash windows and casement windows. A simple door is located in the centre of the ground floor north wall.
