Description

This is an early 19th century house located on the north side of East Street, Wivenhoe. The building is constructed of gault brick and is two storeys high, with a three-window arrangement on the first floor. The windows are small-paned hornless sashes. There is a capped parapet. The central ground floor doorway is framed by two fluted Doric columns supporting a flat entablature, with a key-patterned head to the doorcase. Matching sashes flank the door on the right, and a shop window is positioned on the left. The windows are set within straight, rubbed brick arches. A one-story extension in red brick is visible on the corner of Alma Street. The rear and side walls are also constructed of red brick.
