Description

Price’s House is a circa 1600 house located on Bethany Street, Wivenhoe. The building is constructed of red brick, with a plastered front wall that has an ashlar-marked appearance. The roof is ridged, gabled, and covered with machine tiles, featuring a boldly coved plaster eaves. The house has a square plan and inset chimney stacks in the gables. The front elevation has three pairs of small-paned sash windows on the first storey, and two pairs on the ground storey, which are not aligned with the upper windows. A central door is present with four panels, contained within a reeded case and surmounted by a flat hood.
